Filling the joint

To guarantee the joint’s fire resistance, thermal and sound insulation, the whole joint must be filled with fireproof construction foam.

Fire Rated Gunfoam B1 187 – fire-rated one-component polyurethane gun foam for filling and sealing in places with heightened fire safety requirements. Adheres well to most materials, such as wood, concrete, stone, plaster, metal, PVC and polystyrene.

Alternative product: Fire Rated Foam B1 296 is a fire-resistant PU strawfoam for installing and sealing fire-proof doors, windows, walls and other sealing works in places with heightened fire safety requirements.

Covering the foam and sealing the joint

For long-lasting fire-resistant joints, a special fire-resistant sealant must be used to cover the PU foam and to seal the joint properly.

FireStop Silicone 331 – neutral silicone sealant with increased fire resistance. Specially designed for weatherproofing and sealing of exterior and interior expansion joints where fire resistance is required.
