USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Open the bucket and stir the mixture before use.
Apply the mastic with a paint brush or a roller.

Apply the product in two layers.
When applying the next layer, if possible, make the brush strokes in a different direction than previously.
This will reinforce the mastic’s structure.

For the mesh tape application in the corners, around floor traps and penetrations use a putty trowel.

Hydro insulating walls:
Start by applying the mastic to joints, corners, connecting points, cracks, screw holes and around wall penetrations.

Then add on top of the fresh mastic:

• On the inner corners at least 20-cm-wide mesh tape such as PENOSIL AquaBrake Corner Patch In 434.
• On the outer corners PENOSIL AquaBrake Corner Patch Out 433.
• On the joints and connecting points PENOSIL AquaBrake Tape 431.
• Around the pipe penetrations PENOSIL AquaBrake Manchette 432 with a diameter of at least 3 x bigger than the opening. Cut a hole in the middle of the mesh tape that is 4-5 mm smaller than the penetrating tube diameter, so that the edge of the fabric would cover the tube by 3-5 mm.

Then cover all the mesh tapes with mastic. Make sure the mesh tapes are well immersed in the mastic. Finally, use a roller to apply the mastic over the entire wall surface.

The mastic is dry when it changes colour (this takes approx. 2h).
After it has dried, a second layer can be applied (crosswise to the first layer).

Hydro insulating floors:
Start by applying the mastic to joints, corners, connecting points, cracks, screw holes, floor penetrations and around floor traps. Then add on top of the fresh mastic:

• On the inner corners at least 20-cm-wide mesh tape such as PENOSIL AquaBrake Corner Patch In 434.
• On the outer corners PENOSIL AquaBrake Corner Patch Out 433.
• On the joints and connecting points PENOSIL AquaBrake Tape 431.
• Around the pipe penetrations PENOSIL AquaBrake Manchette 432 with a diameter of at least 3 x bigger than the opening. Cut a hole in the middle of the mesh tape that is 4-5 mm smaller than the penetrating tube diameter, so that the edge of the fabric would cover the tube by 3-5 mm.
• Around the floor traps AquaBrake Patch 430, the trap manufacturer’s instructions must be followed.

Then cover all the mesh tapes with mastic. Make sure the mesh tapes are well immersed in the mastic. Finally, use a roller to apply the mastic over the entire floor surface.

The mastic is dry when it changes colour (this takes approx. 2h). After it has dried, a second layer can be applied (crosswise to the first layer).

Tips

• Surfaces to be sealed must be clean, dry and free from any dust, loose particles and oil residues. Concrete, cement and plaster surfaces should first be primed with PENOSIL BetPrimer 603.
• Application temperature between +10°C and +25°C (air, surfaces and product). Maximum relative humidity 80%.
• Depending on the surface material and layer’s thickness, product’s consumption rate is 1.1 kg/m2 (for 2 layers).
• Depending on the humidity and temperature, the final curing time is 6 to 12 hours.
• Cured mastic must be covered with a suitable finishing material, e.g. tiles.
• Make sure that the cured mastic layer does not contain any holes. It must be applied in an even layer. Verify the quality of your mastic layer before tiling.
• The thickness of the cured product layer should be approx. 0.4 mm on walls, 0.5 mm on the floor and 1.5 mm around traps.
• Uncured product can be removed with PENOSIL Cleaning Wipes 941 or water. Cured product can be removed mechanically.

Ograniczenia

• Not suitable for surfaces that are permanently underwater such as swimming pools.
• Not suitable for rooms where temperature may exceed +80°C, e.g. sauna steam room walls.
• Does not adhere to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) or PTFE (Teflon®).
