Installing doors
Door installation, as with window installation, is demanding and requires using products that have high elasticity and excellent sound- and thermal-insulation values. Below we detail the steps to take and products to use during door installation.
Covering the door sill with plasterboard
The easiest way to fix construction boards to a door sill is to use one of Penosil’s adhesive foams. The adhesive foam saves time and improves the door’s sound- and thermal insulation.

Sealing the door sill angle
To seal the angle between the plasterboard and door frame, use a paintable and moveable product.

Sealing door joints
To minimise heat losses and improve sound insulation, the joints between the door frame and wall must be sealed with a construction foam. Before applying the PU foam, the door must be mechanically fixed and supported according to the door manufacturer’s instructions. For fire-rated doors, the fire-resistant PU foam should be used.

Gluing and sealing door thresholds
Door thresholds, like floors, need to be fixed down with products that accommodate surface fluctuations. Therefore, door thresholds need to be glued with adhesives that guarantee a permanently elastic and durable bond.
