Why to choose PlasterSeal 650 over regular plaster?

13.10.2023

When regular plaster requires hauling heavy bags, mixing and taping, then Penosil’s new and innovative ready-mixed acrylic filler skips all these steps. Penosil PlasterSeal 650 is a lightweight and fast-drying filler that allows you to prepare and finish plasterboard surfaces much faster and with less effort than with regular plaster.

The lightweight nature of Penosil PlasterSeal 650 brings numerous benefits. The glass spheres in its structure make this product extra light and easier to handle, reducing strain during application. With Penosil PlasterSeal 650, there is no need for joining tapes, and due to its very low shrinkage, only a single layer of product is needed to fill the joint. This is particularly advantageous for larger projects where extensive plastering is required, as it helps to prevent fatigue and maintain productivity.

Penosil PlasterSeal 650 can be used for filling plasterboard joints with tapered, half-rounded tapered- and half-rounded factory edges. The joint between two plasterboards must be around 2 to 4 mm. Also, it is suitable for filling screw holes on plasterboard walls. However, Penosil PlasterSeal 650 cannot be applied on plasterboards with levelled cut edges or mixed edges, and it should not be used on exterior surfaces.

In terms of durability, Penosil PlasterSeal 650 does not compromise on strength or adhesion. Despite its reduced weight, it maintains strength, remains crack-free and has excellent adhesion with many materials such as plasterboard, plaster, concrete, masonry, wood and treated metals.

Another significant advantage of Penosil PlasterSeal 650 is its ease of use. Whether you’re plastering walls or ceilings, when following the usage instructions correctly, you should end up with visually pleasing and structurally sound surfaces:

  • First, ensure that the surfaces to be sealed are stable, even, clean, dry and free from any dust or loose particles.
  • Then, open the convenient 5 l or 16 l bucket.
  • Take some product and soften it between two jointing knives before application.
  • Fill the plasterboard joints by pressing the filler firmly to the joint with a jointing knife in a left-to-right movement.
  • Finally, remove excess filler and smoothen the surface with a wide jointing knife in a down-to-up movement, and the joint is done.
  • Depending on the humidity and air temperature, Penosil PlasterSeal 650 can be sanded and painted over already after 4 hours.
  • The consumption rate for tapered factory edge and half-rounded tapered factory edge is 0,2 l/m.
  • Product application temperature is between +10°C and +35°C.

Previously, filling and finishing plasterboard joints was a time-consuming process. Penosil PlasterSeal 650 has been designed to simplify the plastering process while providing exceptional results. The ready-mixed filler and single layer application save time and increase productivity. Find out more about our new and amazing product here.
