Fireproofing bundled cable penetrations
This solution has been tested with 14 cables in a bundle, with penetration width of 60 mm and sealant’s depth of 30 mm.
Fire resistance: EI180, E240.
Filling the penetration
To ensure the fire-resistant sealing of cable penetration before finishing works, an intumescent acrylic should be used.
Fire Rated Gunfoam B1 187 – fire-rated one-component polyurethane gun foam for filling and sealing in places with heightened fire safety requirements. Adheres well to most materials, such as wood, concrete, stone, plaster, metal, PVC and polystyrene.
Alternative product: Fire Rated Foam B1 296 is a fire-resistant PU strawfoam for installing and sealing fire-proof doors, windows, walls and other sealing works in places with heightened fire safety requirements.
Sealing the penetration
To ensure fire-resistant sealing of cable penetration before final finishing of the wall, intumescent acrylic with graphite is the best choice.
