Filling the penetration

To guarantee good thermal and sound insulation together with fire resistance, the whole penetration around the pipe must be filled with fire-rated construction foam.

Fire Rated Gunfoam B1 187 – fire-rated one-component polyurethane gun foam for filling and sealing in places with heightened fire safety requirements. Adheres well to most materials, such as wood, concrete, stone, plaster, metal, PVC and polystyrene.

Sealing the penetration

To ensure fire resistant sealing of pipe penetration before final finishing of the wall, intumescent acrylic with graphite is the best choice.

FireStop Intumescent Acrylic Graphite 682 – acrylic-based grey intumescent sealant with graphite for fireproofing joints and sealing penetrations. Expands with heat and blocks all passage of smoke and fire. Starts expanding from 200°C.
