Filling the penetration

The pipe penetration around aluminium composite pipe is usually made fireproof by using fire-rated PU foam and sealant.

To guarantee the pipe penetration’s fire resistance, thermal and sound insulation, the opening around the pipe penetration must be filled with fireproof construction foam.

Fire Rated Gunfoam B1 187 – fire-rated one-component polyurethane gun foam for filling and sealing in places with heightened fire safety requirements. Adheres well to most materials, such as wood, concrete, stone, plaster, metal, PVC and polystyrene.

Sealing the penetration

To ensure the fire-resistant sealing of pipe penetration before finishing works, an intumescent acrylic should be used.

FireStop Intumescent Acrylic Graphite 682 an acrylic-based intumescent sealant with added graphit for fireproofing joints and sealing penetrations. Expands with heat and blocks all passage of smoke and fire. Starts expanding from +200°C.
